Fraudulent Letters and Forged Checks

ACCO Brands Corporation has been made aware of fraudulent letters notifying individuals that they have won a GBC-sponsored lottery prize and enclosing forged checks that appear to be issued by GBC (General Binding Corporation), an ACCO Brands company, or some other party. Please take notice that these letters are fraudulent, these checks are forged, and they are not in any way associated with GBC or ACCO Brands Corporation.
There are no funds in the account referenced in the forged checks and these checks will not clear any of the issuer’s bank accounts.
These unsolicited fraudulent letters apparently require the recipients to call a telephone number in Vancouver, British Columbia to “to assist you in finalizing payment process.”
Please do not be fooled by these fake letters and checks. They are from neither GBC nor ACCO Brands and they are part of a scam. Neither GBC nor ACCO Brands sponsors, promotes or engages in lotteries.
If you receive one of these fraudulent letters which contains a forged check, you should ignore the letter and you should not attempt to cash the check.
